As Halloween approaches, we are taking a look at some the top zombie cars on Autotrader. These discontinued makes and models may have died untimely deaths, but their ghosts continue to lurk in our streets, haunt our roads, and hide in plain sight on driveways across the country.
Here are the cars we would love to resurrect and some which we think should remain dead and buried.

Skoda Yeti

2009 - 2017

The Skoda Yeti was a rugged, compact SUV which majored on comfort and practicality. This fab little family wagon was perfect for any abominable snowman and his brood. Sadly, Skoda killed off the Yeti when it launched the Karoq in 2017. While the Karoq is another smash hit for Skoda we miss the Yeti’s charms, and it is becoming an increasingly rare sight on our roads.

Lamborghini Huracan

2014 - 2024

The Huracan dominated the supercar world for a decade and through its many updates and special editions, this was a car that just wouldn’t die. However, it was eventually killed off in 2024, and you can find out more about the Huracan’s life and legacy in Rory’s video here.

Ford Fiesta

1976 - 2023

We are still in mourning after the death of the Fiesta in 2023, but it continues to live on in our hearts and in the thousands of pre-loved examples on Autotrader. The demise of the Fiesta is a haunting reminder of how small cars have fallen out of vogue. Yet, with Renault’s recent resurrection of the Renault 5 as a modern electric car, we live in hope the Fiesta could one day have its own second coming.

Audi TT

1998 - 2023

The sporty TT was an impressive blend of fun, style and everyday usability. As a coupe it was surprisingly practical and as a convertible it added wind in your hair thrills into the mix. After three generations the TT’s days were numbered and like the Fiesta, production ended in 2023. Yet, its spirit looks set to live on. Earlier this year Audi revealed the Concept C which hints at what the TT’s successor could be like when it arrives in 2027 and you can find out more in Rory’s video here.

Volkswagen Phaeton

2002 - 2016

If we’re honest, we’re surprised the Phaeton lasted as long as it did. This VW was truly sublime, sharing much of its DNA with the Bentley Continental. However, with such a steep asking price and deadly depreciation, the Phaeton was essentially DOA. There are a few Phaetons floating around on Autotrader, but tracking down an elusive model with a W12 engine is a formidable quest. It’s worth the hunt if you can find one, though.

Honda Civic Type R

1997 – 2025

While you can still buy a brand-new hybrid Civic, the pure-blooded petrol Type R was the victim of strict emissions regulations and discontinued in Europe earlier this year. It’s a loss we are still processing, and we will miss the slick manual gearbox and the corner hugging handling. We recently sensed the distant presence of Type R’s ghost in the new Prelude and we hope the soul of this iconic hot hatch will enjoy an adrenaline-fuelled afterlife.
