It has never been easier to try a car, van or bike – some brands offer subscription services on a monthly basis, with no down payment or exit fee so you can swap in and out of different models with minimal notice. Or you can lock in for longer, on a leasing deal, which still means you just pay a monthly amount and hand the vehicle back at the end of the deal. Additionally, some brands provide 24-hour test drives for a chance to get to know the vehicle before you commit.
Then there’s the Buy choice, whether it’s paying in one hit or signing up to a fixed term finance deal with the option to buy at the end. These are vehicles that make good long-term sense. And finally our fave section, for dreamers everywhere. The new luxe stuff, the wishlist option or the treat yourself splurge, depending on how big that imagined windfall might be. Enjoy this month’s offerings!

Try

Honda WN7
Yes, this month we’ve swapped four wheels for two as we reckon you should give a motorbike a try. Why? Because Honda has just launched its first all-electric bike. The WN7 combines plenty of power with clever engineering and there’s even a version you can ride with just a A1 licence. While you do forgo some of the drama of engine noise and gears, the silence and instant acceleration make riding the WN7 a relaxing, zen-like experience which is enjoyable on a different level. Plus, the WN7 is the first electric bike to have a CCS rapid charging port which allows you to make use of the ever-growing public charging network for electric cars. If this sounds intriguing, Honda is planning to have a WN7 demonstrator available at each of its bike dealerships, so whether you're an existing owner killing time while your regular bike is in for a service or simply curious to see how the brand's electric car expertise translates to two wheels it will be easy to test the theory.

Buy

Omoda 7
Omoda has quickly built a strong presence in the UK alongside its sister brand Jaecoo and parent company Chery. Now, Omoda’s latest offering is arguably the most well-rounded model yet. The Omoda 7 combines an efficient ‘Super Hybrid’ system with all the latest mod-cons in a family SUV the size of a Nissan Qashqai. It may not be perfect, but the Omoda 7 offers great value for money, and it is significantly cheaper than all its mainstream rivals which is why it’s our pick to buy this month.

Dream

Microlino
If you already own a fleet of Ferraris, Bentleys and Aston Martins what do you dream about buying next? We’d wager the stylish Microlino quadricycle would be the kind of vehicle you’d want to add to your collection. Inspired by 1950s bubble cars, the Microlino features an unusual front-hinged door and comes in an array of pastel colours with an optional canvas sunroof. It’s a pint-sized hoot to drive and a tonic to the bloated modern cars we see on our roads. With an official electric range of over 100 miles and a top speed of 56mph, driving a Microlino along a motorway is a thrill all of its own as Rory Reid discovered when he drove one from Bedford to London. However, unlike the cheaper Citroën Ami, the Microlino costs about the price of a fully electric Fiat Grande Panda which is hard to justify, so we'll have to keep on dreaming.
