#10 | Dacia Spring
The Spring is super on-brand for Dacia because it’s one of the cheapest electric cars you can buy new in the UK. Apart from the Citroen Ami, but that’s more like an electric bike with a roof than an actual car. Anyways, the price alone gives the Spring a unique sort of appeal, but there are definite compromises to consider.
Our review of the Dacia Spring will lay those compromises out…

#9 | BMW iX
Next on the list is the BMW iX which couldn’t be further removed from the plucky Dacia Spring and proves there’s something for everyone here at Autotrader. The iX is an absolute beast of a car with its imposing front grille, bulbous curves and sumptuous interior. It makes a very strong statement and thanks to a recent refresh it now packs more power and range than ever before.

#8 | Omoda E5
Omoda, sister brand Jaecoo and parent company Chery may all be newcomers to the UK, but they are already making their presence known. The Jaecoo 7 managed to generate the largest share of enquires across Autotrader for the second month running while the all-electric Omoda E5 became the eight most popular EV in September. This compact crossover offers loads of tech for a very reasonable price, so it’s no wonder it’s attracting a lot of interest.

#7 | Leapmotor C10
In at number seven is the Leapmotor C10, another Chinese model capturing the attention of potential buyers. This family-size SUV may look rather unassuming, but everything comes as standard making it great value for money. Leapmotor is currently offering some compelling deals with big discounts and finance offers explaining why so many of you have been making enquiries.

#6 | MG4
The first of two MGs on the list, you’ve got to have to hand it China’s SAIC for the way it’s handled the company. The decision to take a beloved British brand famed for making affordable two-seat sportscars and start churning out hatchbacks and electric SUVs could easily have backfired. But instead, thanks to great pricing and appealing design, today’s MG has become a huge hit with buyers.

#5 | Cupra Born
The Cupra Born is the VW ID.3’s sportier cousin. It takes the same fundamentals but adds signature bronze embellishments and a sharper driving experience. We loved living with one on long-term test and by the volume of enquiries on Autotrader we reckon we might not be the only ones who fancy having a Cupra on our driveway.

#4 | Skoda Elroq
“The Elroq undercuts the Enyaq in price yet offers nearly as much car in return, with a surprising amount of room inside, a great drive and a comforting amount of range.” Erin’s words on the appeal of Skoda’s latest electric SUV. No wonder it’s so popular on Autotrader.

#3 | Renault 5
This, right here, is how you do retro. Renault has taken the nameplate of its classic runabout from the ‘70s and ‘80s and totally modernised it for the electric age. It’s stunning, this thing, and it’s as good to drive as it is to look at. It’s also well-priced, has great battery range, lovely quality, and more interior flexibility than you’d think.

#2 | Ford Puma Gen-E
The Puma Gen-E is now more affordable than ever thanks to the new electric car grant which reduces the price by £3,750. As one of only two vehicles currently eligible for this maximum grant, the Puma Gen-E had become the second most popular electric car on Autotrader in September. It’s easy to see why. Ford has taken the best-selling Puma, swapped the engine for a battery and created a reassuringly familiar, well-rounded package compact electric car. Simple as that.

#1 | MGS5
This particular car being at number one tells you just how right MG is getting things. The MGS5 picks up where its predecessor, the ZS, left off by shooting straight to the top of the leaderboard. We think the MGS5 is a winning blend of value, space and features which is almost certainly why it is at the top of this list.
